The World WAR II fashion came at a time when America was forced to look inward for fashion rather than inspiration from the
outside world. Previously America looked to Europe, specifically France, for their fashion ideas and dictates. During World
War II America was cut off from the outside world and had to look inward for inspiration. From the inspiration of the times
came a mix of practicality and style, clothes were made that were less costly and more durable because of the ban on certain
fabrics. Also, they were starting to be designed for the increasing number of women in the workforce.
